It's that time of year again

All,
It's that time to change the battery in your fob. It's a CR2032 and a small Phillips head screwdriver.

    I change it out always on the anniversary of the week that I bought the Chieftain.

    Definitely don't want to be caught with a dead FOB battery.

    So do I and then carry another in case I'm riding with someone that isn't on top of things like someone I know. :D

    I purchased my Indian Chief Vintage used about 6 months ago.  I never had  fob in my old Harley so kind of new to this.  If I change the battery on the FOB will I have to reset or will it still know the bike and turn on once I have a new battery.  Also, I don't know the PIN on my Chief so do I have to contact the dealer to look that up so I have a backup?

    I can tell ya'll how to prevent the problem of replacing the fob battery.  Just buy a 4-pack of batteries and throw em in your saddlebag.  Carry them around with you so you can replace yours whenever it goes out.  For some reason if you carry spares they don't seem to ever go out.

    The bike will remember the fob and nothing will be lost during battery change. To get your PIN info, you will need to contact the dealer and they will likely need to connect the bike to the DigitalWrench software.

    Bought a six pack of batteries last week and changed mine.

    My original FOB lost it's memory once at about 1 year old. My dealer is over 2 hours away and they need the bike with the FOB. Utilized the code for about a month before I could get there. Also purchased a second FOB for piece of mind.
