15,000 mile service
« on: June 14, 2017, 03:27:10 am »
Bought my roadmaster new end of December, coming up on 15,000 mile service. It seems that fork oil change causing this service to climb over $800.00 is a bit excessive?  I have been told that the fork oil change isn't needed that often thoughts?

I'm over 21,000 and haven't had it changed yet.
Typically, you don't have to worry about it unless it leaks/leaked or you notice the front end doesn't feel right.
    Good luck.

My dealer has done several at 15,000 and always finds the oil clean. That my not account for viscosity breakdown. I'm not aware of why Indian is recommending it be changed relatively early.
The shortest distance between two points is boring.

Now have 73,000 miles and have not replaced the fork oil. When it starts leaking I will not only change the oil but all the bushings and sliders will also be replaced. No handling problems yet.
