Stage 1 vs Vance and Hines Turn Downs
« on: January 11, 2018, 08:56:09 PM »
For those of you who've heard both, how does the sound compare? Is one deeper than the other? One louder than the other? Does the Stage 1 flash work with the Vance and Hines? I've listened to sound clips on you tube but its difficult to gauge the difference with my lap top speakers.

Try listening with a set of ear phones from your cell phone. That should help a bit.

I got the V&H. Deeper tone, not obnoxious, and no cackle.

I tried headphones in my lap top but still couldn’t gauge the sound. I currently have the stage 1 with fish tails and am wondering how the sound on the V&H compares.

I've had both, the stage 1's on my 15 Chieftain and Vance and Hines on my 2017 Chieftain elite. I was complimented on my Stage 1's quite a bit, but love the deeper tone of the Vance and Hines, the Vance and Hines seem a little louder than the Stage 1's at idle, but I think that's because the design reflecting off the ground. If I were to do it again I would definitely go with the Vance Hines turndowns

Thanks, this is the first hand information I'm seeking. I have the Stage 1 currently and have ordered the V&H.
