Remap for changed exhaust
« on: September 22, 2016, 04:14:38 pm »
I bought a used Vintage with stage 1 exhaust with an ECM remap for the stage 1. This exhaust was too loud for the wife so I replaced the stage 1 with a stock pair. Do I need to get a remap? What are the consequences if I don't? Will it run hotter/cooler? Will the mileage suffer?
Thanks for your responses.

Well now it will run rich.  It probably won't hurt it since EPA standards are lean anyways.  You could put a fuel controller on your bike and adjust it yourself.  I have not heard of anyone refreshing back to stock....
