I've been to a few HD dealerships and they all spew the same lines. First they pay passive aggressive compliments saying how nice they are followed by "Indian probably won't be in business in a few more years,"

Thats when you say,  "you guys said the same thing about Victory,  how they doing these days!?"

Quote
"where's the nearest dealer if you have problems?"

I love to answer this one, " I've got 3 in a 20 mile radius"

Quote
"The quality fit and finish isn't there yet"

"since we actually ride our bikes, anything that may or may not be lacking in the fit and finish department, is hard to see through all the bug guts...not to mention when we park next to your Harley,  your bike becomes invisible and nary a word is heard about the great f&f of the bike nobody is looking at. "

Quote
and my favorite one. "The bike is to new to spend that much money on and no one knows how they'll hold up yet".

Says every person that bought a first year model Harley...

So, the reasonable HD rider sticks with what he knows because it's safe lol.

Ask the Gushmore owners about that,  lol

Yep that pretty much covers it and I bet the owners of the two bikes in your picture never test rode the Indian before buying Rusmore bikes.  This is the uphill battle for Indian.

The battle against ignorance is a tough one to win...

Preaching to the choir. I was just saying this is the angle the HD dealers use to keep the faithful faithful and for the most part it seems to be working. Of course we all know better which is why we own and love to ride our Indians. Rational thinking and reasoning skills don't apply to first year HD models they only apply other brands with new models.

Employee lot at work.  The two HDs are guys in my office.   One thinks Indian will fail the other is a sheep.  I could care less what they ride but they sure obsess over my Chieftain.

They should park their bikes somewhere else. Your Indian looks beautiful parked next to them!

    Sounds typical.

Perspective is a fickle bitch. I never thought the Batwing fairing was ugly...until I saw the Chieftain's!
It is just perspective and opinion and no insult is intended but every time I see one of those Batwings, about 400 times per day, I can't help but think how homely they are.

What is interesting from the comparative pictures of the bagger batwing type bikes - to the general non-biker public they all look like "Harley's".....

God I hate the look of that batwing. Never have liked 'em.

Dang.  Pains me to agree. I bet there are great to ride, but not a fan.  Personal preference.  The rest of the bike is great.....
